Pauline was born in Fitchburg to Albert and Yvonne (Cote) Rochette. She was the ninth child out of eleven.
She is survived by three sisters, Bernadette Leger, Claire Rochette, Jeannette Racine, her brother
Roland Rochette.
She is survived by her three children, Donna Sontag and her husband Richard, Stephen Berube
and his wife Linda, and Lisa Meyer and her husband Jeffrey and John Rochette.
Her grand children, Christopher Jeffrey and his wife Shana, Elisha Lamy and her husband Curtis,
Dennis Berube, Eric Berube, Nathan Meyer, Alexandra Phares her husband Adam, and Adrianna Meyer.
Her great-children, Olivia nd Ella Lamy, Lucas and Preston Phares, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Peter L. Berube in 1978 and her brothers, Edgar, Maurice, and Robert Rochette and her sisters Cecile Barrett, Theresa Rochette and Rita Dupuis
She graduated from St. Bernard's High School in 1954.
She taught CCD at St. Francis and Our Lady of the Lake for four years.
She was a CYC advisor for four years.
In addition to her three children, she opened our home to Michael Merritt, John Rochette, Cheri Rochette, Trisha and Shawn Berube, Max Riendeau and Guillaume LaBerge.
Pauline opened her doors to anyone who needed to talk, a place to stay, or something to eat.
Their home was always open for friends and family to gather.
From 1968 they hosted a Thanksgiving Day open house where as many as fifty people would stop by for home made turkey soup, sandwiches and homemade pies.
She devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Pauline loved to work in her yard or any yard that needed weeding always willing to lend a hand whether it be cleaning, laundry or taking care of the children.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday December 23,2024 @ 10a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 81 Sheridan St. Fitchburg, MA. Interment will follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday afternoon at the funeral home from 3 until 5p.m.
