Fitchburg:  Rachelle E. Cormier  (Landry), 84 of Fitchburg, MA passed away at her residence on October 20,2021.

She was born in Fitchburg, MA October 8,1937 the daughter of Wilfred and Alvina (Aresnault) Landry  and  lived all of her life in Fitchburg. She was a graduate of St. Bernard’s Central Catholic High School Class of 1955. She worked as the office manager for Meadow Acres for 18 years, retiring many years ago.

Rachelle was an active board member for the former St. Joseph’s School PTA for 10 years, she enjoyed working bingo at St. Joseph’s Church, traveling to the ocean, and was an avid reader.

She is survived by her two daughters, Michelle A. Cormier of Great Mills, Maryland and Renee M. Herold and husband Martin  Kukkula of Fitchburg, MA, her sister, Madeleine Melanson of Fitchburg,  her niece Lisa Cormier and husband Brian of Fitchburg, and seven grandchildren, Andrew Herold, Erik Herold, Kaylyn Herold, Ryan Herold, Cody Herold, Krista Holso, and Liisa Holso. Her husband of 59 years, Robert G. Cormier predeceased her in 2016.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 27,2021 with  a Mass  @ 11a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church  49 Woodland St. Fitchburg, MA . A calling hour will held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9:30 until 10:30a.m. .  All are welcome to attend. The Lavery Chartrand Alario Funeral Home 99 Summer St. Fitchburg, MA is directing.
