Obituary
Brookline, NH: Rene E. LaFleur, 86 of Brookline, NH, and a former resident of Lunenburg, MA, passed away peacefully on June 18,2021, with his family by his side.
Rene was born on January 27, 1935, in Fitchburg, MA to parents Albert N. LaFleur and Florence M. (Allard) LaFleur. He had two older brothers, Leo A. LaFleur and Roland G. LaFleur. He lived most of his life in Lunenburg, MA before moving to Brookline, NH. Rene served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Cascade, a destroyer tender, after the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1959. Following his discharge, Rene established and operated successful area businesses for the next sixty years.
Rene truly enjoyed the company of others and relished family gatherings. He never failed to strike up a conversation that ended with his infectious smile and laugh. Rene had a thirst for knowledge and loved helping others accomplish their goals. He was known for supporting others when he could offer his help. Rene was a hard-working man, often found working in the office until the early hours of the morning. Throughout his career, Rene sold over 10,000 homes and rented many more to families throughout New England.
Rene is survived by his children, son Kevin R. LaFleur of Laconia , NH, and daughter Donna Ankstitus and husband Jeff of Lancaster, MA; his grandchildren, Brianna A.,Brenden L., and Ashley L,; several nieces and nephews; and many business associates throughout the country.
Rene was predeceased by his wife of forty-one years , Rosemarie (Comforte) LaFleur in 2003.
Services for Rene will be held on Tuesday, June 29,2021 with a Mass at 10a.m. in St. Anthony De Padua Church 84 Salem St. Fitchburg, MA . Interment will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery in Fitchburg, MA . Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday , June 28,2021 from 5 until 7p.m.
