Robert (Bob) F. Robideau Jr., 70 of Leominster, MA passed away peacefully on December 14, 2023 with his loving family at his side. Bob is survived by his wife of 44 years, Georgia Gianakis-Robideau, his daughter Alexa Austin, son-in-law, Matthew Austin, and grandchildren, Lillian and Ryan. He also leaves his mother, Levina Arsenault and five loving brothers and sisters, Deborah Miller, Kathleen Jones, Brian Robideau, Brenda Brassard, and Karen Hall.
Bob grew up in Fitchburg, MA and graduated from St. Bernard's Central Catholic High School in 1973. His passion for serving others in his community led to him studying fire science at Mount Wachusett Community College and a lifetime of volunteering for Fitchburg and Leominster Offices of Emergency Management for nearly 45 years. He was a devout member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church where he served on the Parish Council and also taught Sunday School.
A sports fan at heart, Bob spent much of his free time coaching basketball and eventually went on to become a certified IAABO (basketball official) referee. In the offseason, Bob enjoyed participating in the USA Softball Umpire Program. Above all, Bob was happiest amongst his family, especially his wife, and spent the last seven years of his life enjoying his role as a grandfather. He was adored by his grandchildren and brought them much joy.
A funeral home service for Bob will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 11a.m.. Calling hours will be held prior to his service from 9 until 11a.m. All friends and relatives are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude (click here) in memory of Bob.
