Fitchburg: Robert W. Schreiner 88 of Fitchburg, MA passed away peacefully at his residence on April 16,2021.
Robert was born February 1, 1933 in Fitchburg, MA the son of Robert A. Schreiner and Edith M. (Revell) Schreiner. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the U.S.Navy. He served aboard the USS Hornet and served overseas in China and Europe during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1956. After serving in the Navy, he went on to work for New England Telephone over 29 years as a splicing technician before his retirement in October of 1988.
He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and a member of the Eastwood Club in Fitchburg, MA .
He is survived by his companion of over 20 years Rosina P. Menard with whom he lived, his sister Janice Byron and husband Richard of Lunenburg, MA, brother Richard Schreiner of Lunenburg, MA along with several nieces and nephews . He was predeceased by his first wife Claire L. ( Mailloux) Schreiner in 1988.
