                     LAVERY CHARTRAND ALARIO FUNERAL HOME

                                      99 SUMMER ST. FITCHBURG, MA

                                                        Obituary

Fitchburg :  Samuel Dennis Godin 54 , of Fitchburg, MA , passed away recently and unexpectedly at his residence Sam was born June 11, 1967, son of the late Raymond F. Godin and Diane M. ( Lucey) Godin.

Sam was a graduate of Fitchburg High School Class of 1985 and a 1990 graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). Sam recently received a certificate of graduation from Fitchburg State University for their Resident Leadership  Institute. He had been pursuing his MBA from Fitchburg State University at the time of his death.

Sam worked as a mechanical engineer for many years, including a time in which  he  enjoyed working for SAAB in Sweden. Sam retired from engineering early in order to pursue his desire to travel. He adventured around the country and the world for several years, sometimes with his sister Annmarie as his travel companion. He later settled in Flagstaff, Arizona and became the director of the Flagstaff Family Food Center.  Sam returned to Fitchburg six years ago to live with his ailing father who was so happy to have him.

Sam became involved with the community service group called Inform Fitchburg. There he met many new and dear friends.

Sam loved traveling, playing D&D, laughing, listening to music, cooking ( with his many interesting kitchen gadgets), and reading.

Sam will be greatly missed by his four siblings, who happily spoiled him as a little kid. Lyn Bourque and husband Tony, Sue Farnsworth and husband David, Theodore “Ted” Godin and wife Lisa and Annmarie Godin and her partner Bob Otto, many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, aunts , uncles, and cousins. He will also be greatly missed by his many friends around the country, but most especially by his dearest lifelong friends, Jeff LeBlanc, Chris Cucchiara, and Mike Lavers.

His family wishes to thank all the kind people who have reached out to us over the past few days.

Because of the many small children in our immediate family, we ask that any unvaccinated people who will be attending the services to please wear a mask.

Many in our vaccinated family will choose to wear a mask also.

Thank You  in advance for your understanding.
