Susan P. Morizzo
Susan P. Morizzo, 71, of Leominster, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, in her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a 1.5 year courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on June 18, 1953, in Athol, Massachusetts, Susan was the daughter of the late John and Beatrice (Theriault), Alexakis. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend known for her compassionate nature, unwavering support, and boundless love for others.
Susan grew up in Athol, graduated from Athol High School in 1971 and spent over 30 years working forTyco Simplex-Grinnell.
Susan wasa devout Catholic and member of Saint Anna Parish where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the St Anna Society.Susan lived her life with deep faith, always putting others before herself. Everyone felt her warmth, kindness, and selflessness.She always made time to lend a listening ear or offer a helping hand. Susan also found joy in the little things whether it was tending to her gardens, antiquing, crafting unique handmade gifts, traveling to new places, dancing, shoppingor simply enjoying a day at the beach. Susan always made the most of every moment.
Susan’s family was the center of her life. She is survived by her beloved husband of 15 years, Paul L. Morizzo, her children, Alexis King and her husband Davin, Ashley Berry, Michael Morizzo and his wife Jacklyn and Nicholas Morizzo. Her cherished grandchildren Jacob Hillard-King, Ariana King, Kaeden King, Joshua King, Mia Morizzo, Lucas Morizzo and Leanna Morizzo. She is also survived by her sister Cathy Lyesiuk and her husband Gene,her brother Michael Alexakis and his wife Patricia and many nieces and nephews and a lifetime of dear friends. Susan was predeceased by her infant twin daughters, Alessandra, and Angelique.
Susan’s love for family and friends was immeasurable and her legacy of compassion and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Susan’s family would like to thank Compassus for the hospice care provided for Susan, especially Sarah, Jane, Kristina, Kathy and Traci.
Calling hours will be held Friday January 17,2025 from 4 to 7 PM at the Lavery Chartrand Alario Funeral Home, 99 Summer Street, Fitchburg, MA.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday January 18,2025 at 11AM in St. Anna Church, 194 Lancaster Street, Leominster MA. Interment will follow in St Bernard Cemetery in Fitchburg.
