William H. Ulrich of Westminster, MA passed away on April 2, 2026 at the age of 73 after battling with dementia.
Loved by many as Bill, he was born on September 19, 1952 to Francis and Yvette (DuPont) Ulrich. He attended Catholic school in Hudson, where he graduated in 1970.
As a teenager, he started working as a bag boy for Victory Supermarket. He dedicated his career to them, climbing the ladder to become store manager, a position he held until 2005. He later worked for Frito Lay until his retirement.
He married Denise Lafreniere of Gardner in 1994. The union produced two daughters – Emily, a baker, and Erica, a biologist. Bill was a Beatles fan from their very first Ed Sullivan appearance, and he passed this love onto both daughters, first with Beatles for Babies recordings and then with frequent viewings of Yellow Submarine.
He was an avid outdoorsman his entire life, first as a fisherman and then as a mountaineer. Amongst other feats, he was a recognized member of the AMC NH Four Thousand Footers Club, hiked through Zion National Park, and once tackled live volcano Mount Rainier.
Bill was a diehard sports fan from an early age, having pitched a perfect no-hit, no-run Little League game on May 18, 1964. He supported the Celtics, Bruins, and Patriots. However, courtesy of his father, he was also a diehard New York Yankees fan. With his biblical knowledge of baseball stats, he would passionately defend his beloved Yankees from any Red Sox fan who dared challenge their supremacy.
He is survived by two daughters, Emily and Erica; and three sisters, Cynthia Gaudere and husband Bill, Nancy Saal and husband Brian, and Lisa Ulrich and partner Vinny, his niece Eleanor, nephews Adlai and Philip, and his best friend, Dave Cormier. He was predeceased by both parents and one beloved cat, Penny.
